Challenge: How to get brand awareness with the Christmas greeting

Until 2007, TMP Worldwide (Company specialized in HR communication) wished Merry Christmas to its clients in a traditional way: with Christmas cards, emails with flash animations ... But that year they decided to try something different, something that would really surprise their customers and impact the public and the HR sector

Solution

As it was an internal job in which we did not have any budget, we decided to use our imagination and bet on a communication campaign in the media. We made a website with a video where Santa Claus appeared announcing his retirement. From here, as specialists in HR communication, we decided that there was no one better to find a replacement for him than us (TMP). We set up a website (sebuscapapanoel.com) and received dozens of applications in video format. As the award was for the applicant with the highest number of views, they were in charge of covering the action. On our side, we sent the press release with audiovisual content to all the mass media so that they would know the action before December 24. We also informed our clients of the action we were taking and encouraged them to interact with various features of the page where you could characterize yourself as Santa Claus and send a digital postcard to your loved ones.



Results

- Both the website and the videos on the YouTube channel received thousands of visits.

- On December 25, this piece of news appeared in several of the main media in Spain, dedicating long spaces to both in the morning and evening editions.

- We did not stop receiving calls from our clients congratulating us for the action and from people who had seen it in the media.
